We heavily invest in research because we are focused on the future. We are honored to partner with the top thought leaders in the industry who share our ambitious agenda to research, explore and pursue the most promising ideas and potential new therapies covering a wide range of conditions using hemp-derived cannabinoids. This type of collaboration is key to advance the research and responsible education around cannabis.
Together with our partners, we have donated more money to hemp-related research than any other organization in the world. We will continue to support expert-developed, unbiased scientific information to healthcare professionals on cannabinoid-focused therapies as a safe and effective option. Our combined efforts will produce the research needed to deliver the changes that will ultimately improve the lives of millions of people.
We know that lack of education is the primary cause of discomfort in practitioners recommending cannabinoid therapy. Our mission is to educate healthcare professionals regarding the basic science underlying the pharmacologic and therapeutic options associated with medical cannabis in patient care and provide clinical insights on the use of medicinal cannabis in practice.

Barry Lambert is the Chairman of the Parent company of Ananda Professional. He is also renowned in the Australian banking industry for founding Count Financial, Australia’s largest network of accounting-based advisory firms, but it was the love of being a grandparent that inspired his philanthropy.
As an infant, Barry’s granddaughter, Katelyn, was diagnosed with Dravet’s syndrome, a rare genetic abnormality that affects the brain’s electric signaling system and causes severe and repetitive seizures. Medical cannabis has been shown to be one of the few therapies that mitigates the seizures caused by the condition, and cannabis derived from hemp gave Katelyn substantial relief.
In 2015, Barry and Joy Lambert made an unprecedented donation of $33.7 million to the University of Sydney for research into the therapeutic use of medicinal cannabis. This resulted in The Lambert Initiative. The Lambert Initiative is an Australian first in the field of medicinal cannabinoids, both in its breadth and depth of research innovation.
In 2016, The Institute of Emerging Health Professions at Thomas Jefferson University received a $3 million gift from the Lamberts to support its Center for Medical Cannabis Education and Research. It was renamed The Lambert Center for the Study of Medicinal Cannabis and Hemp at Thomas Jefferson University, and its mission is to advance the clinical use of cannabis-derived medicinal therapies.
